The present employees can get promoted to this posting through lateral recruitment, tests and interviews. The group C recruitment is done by RRB. The non-technical positions like clerk, station master, apprentice, ticket collector and others would be posted in the newspapers and the candidates have to pass a written test and interview. Those who are selected would be called in for medical tests. The candidates would be posted anywhere in the zone. For instance, the South Eastern railway jobs recruitment drive can post the candidate in any area in the South Eastern zone and so on. The educational qualification ranges from matriculation to graduation. For the technical postings involving departments like civil, electrical, signal, mechanical and telecommunication, diploma holders, graduates and post graduates are hunted based on the position. The candidates have to complete a written test, psychological test, skill test and medical test. The interview is usually not applicable for this position.
