My dad is close to retiring and my mum is retired but refuses to get another job. I understand why (she's always hated working but dropped out of sixth form to work bc she wanted money) bc she was badly bullied at her last workplace, but neither of them seem to properly realise how bad it is now and always act like I'm not doing enough (even though they say they think I am). I just got told "I'm not getting a job until you get a job" and, quite frankly, with the state of the job market and the amount of rejections I get for the most basic of basic positions, I think my mum's at more of an advantage than I am and is being extremely childish. (cw suicidal ideation) I dont know. I just don't know what to do with my life. I get pressured and pecked in the head about What Opportunities I've Got Coming Up because my mum is insecure over the fact she no longer works and has less money, then she wonders why I'm suicidal, then she guilts me out of opportunities that might take me away from home in case I attempt (as if I haven't tried while living here lmao).

DET 1 RSP conducted the first visit from the Honor Series at drill today. We were graced with the presence of CSM Rasmussen, the State Command Sergeant Major for Alabama. CSM Rasmussen is the most Senior Enlisted NCO in the ALARNG. Today, she spoke of her experiences and provided insight to our Soldiers on different ways to achieve success based on their individual goals. DET 1 RSP also focused on Map Reading, a skill that is instrumental in preparing them for success during BCT. The Honor Series mentioned above is where senior leaders across the Alabama National Guard are invited to tell their story and help guide our Soldiers to success.
